Job Role
PHP Developer
With offices on the harbour in the centre of Bristol, this 12-strong dev team already produce some seriously smart software, including SAAS, for a variety of businesses - always with the aim to improve performance for their top clients. They’re a fairly young company as they go, but they’re in an incredibly strong position due to their fantastic products and loyal client base. They have some pretty ambitious plans for the next few years too so now need their next talented Developer (PHP, Javascript) to join their team and work on their new and improved, complex and award-winning applications.

What experience you'll need

We’re looking for candidates with strong PHP/LAMP stack development experience who has wide pallet of skills that also cover Javascript and a good knowledge of libraries like Angular, React, Vue etc.  The Developer will be able to gain fantastic experience in assisting the architecture of new applications and play a key part in discussions on tech projects and ultimately delivering high quality, unit tested solutions.  You’ll be well acquainted with GIT and ideally Symfony as they’re rebuilding many of their systems in this and a JS stack.  Bonus points on offer for those with PHPUnit, Jasmine, Elasticsearch, Docker and Agile dev experience (they play Scrum poker here).

What you'll be doing

To fit in here you must be ambitious, dedicated and innovative when it comes to seeking out better ways of creating software plus you’ll have a true passion for technology and making things work well. You could be working on a range of longer life cycle projects, including performance management systems, as well as other platforms and high traffic international websites. You’ll be taking part in code reviews, optimising and upgrading existing systems as well as creating new products from scratch, always ensuring they are the best they can be. So you’ll really get the chance to sink your teeth in and make a huge impact on exciting products throughout the whole development cycle, starting with a rather large rebuild of their core systems in more progressive technologies.

What you'll get in return for your talents

Fantastic projects, progression, access to exciting tech, on-site hackathons, access to courses/conferences, full training on Symfony, a non-micro management set-up where you feel valued throughout and a great salary (up to £30K) and bens package are on offer to motivated and passionate developers.  So you can count upon going to some excellent socials and Friday beers as well as taking advantage of gym membership, cycle to work scheme, flex working hours, training budget, pension, table football, great coffee and banter.
