Our client is one of the leading distribution and business services companies, employing over 1500 people across the UK. Following a strategic review of their UK marketing capability, they are looking to recruit four important roles as they invest heavily in creating a best-in-class marketing environment.

Looking to recruit a B2C Marketing Manager to work in partnership with relevant industry segment and senior stakeholders to develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of market segment, market value chain and the competitors that operate in these markets. This role will be responsible for translating and communicating industry and customer insights to internal stakeholders, materialising into a differentiated and profitable offer portfolio. Salary up to £30,000 with benefits.

This role will liaise with the relevant senior management in order to gain additional customer insight and agree activity that delivers against their business objectives and targets for the year. The post-holder will therefore be the owner of all marketing targets related to customer acquisition, retention, gross margin and product sales.

The successful candidate will be experienced working in a marketing function with strong customer segmentation experience and have experience of working in B2B and B2C environments, preferably with a utilities background.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include:

- To work closely with the relevant Heads of Sales/Sector to agree the contribution that marketing activity can deliver to their annual business plans. This will include customer acquisition, retention and product sales targets, all of which ultimately will result in margin generation for the business
- Using their customer insight and, armed with the relevant priorities agreed with the Heads of Sales/Sector, to agree with the Channel Marketing Manager the most effective marketing activity to achieve each objective.
- To develop strategies and ideas that achieve the business objectives for each sector, in particular to improve the customer experience for each sector by influencing individuals throughout the business. Act as programme manager, stakeholder managing individuals across the business to deliver initiatives that contribute to these aspirations.
- To manage the Customer Marketing team (currently 4 FTE's) consisting of Marketing Managers responsible for the Domestic, B2B, Marine, Aviation and Retail sectors and the Lubricant and Fuel Card product groups.
- To devise and agree the marketing budget required to support each sector
- To develop a high level of customer insight into all business sectors, having a clear understanding of market size, customer needs, buying behaviour, competitors and strategic positioning; utilising all these to develop effective strategies for achieving competitive advantage
- Working closely with the Planning & Development team to devise customer segmentation approaches that support business growth
- Ensure that the customer requirements are met in a courteous, professional manner at all times

Essential skills/experience:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a marketing or business related subject
- Experience in a marketing function - preferably as a customer segment manager
- Experience of managing a marketing team
- Evidence of having developed effective customer insight and translated this into successful customer propositions and initiatives
- Experience of preparing and delivering marketing plans and presentations
- Evidence of having delivered effective marketing strategies and delivering most elements of the marketing mix, in particular direct marketing, telemarketing, advertising and on-line communications
- Highly influential individual, with experience of working successfully with a regional management structure to deliver business objectives
- Strong project management skills
- Highly numerate with budget management experience
- Ability to work without direct supervision and to take responsibility for the delivery of key projects
- Experience of having to justify marketing activity in an environment where awareness of the benefits of marketing activity is limited
- Holds a post graduate marketing qualification
- Experience of working in B2B and B2C environments, preferably with a utilities background
- Understanding of the Group and the oil distribution market
