About our Client: 

An innovative, forward thinking drinks business with a large and rapidly developing portfolio spanning beers, spirits, RTD's and more recently a fabulous range of premium soft drinks, are growing rapidly. Gaining momentum across the on trade, off trade and export channels they are seeking an ambitious Marketing Director to lead them through their next period of growth. 

This is a business that never stands still and they have spent the last 20 years bringing innovation to the drinks market - establishing brands that have broken new grounds. 

Their portfolio allows them to work across both on trade, off trade and export channels and inventive marketing has helped shape their brands into household names. They have a focussed and creative approach to their NPD pipeline backed up by a fantastic infrastructure which enables them to bring new products to market in record time. They are always looking out for new products and new experiences that will translate into new customer segments. 

This fiercely independent business has a committed, driven and successful management team and their agility and innovative approach allows them to work as hard in grocery as they do in bars and clubs.

The business is extremely well placed to deliver significant growth over the next three years. 

About the Role:

The Marketing Director will put the drinker at the heart of the business, developing winning marketing strategies that engage and deliver positive impact at the top and bottom line.

Managing external perception through brand advocacy, media relations, customer communications and delivery of a robust NPD portfolio is just part of the plan to achieve the challenging sales goals.

Leading a significant team in excess of 20 heads you will take responsibility across NPD, Insights, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Brand Management, Experiential and Customer Marketing.

You will need to be clear on your priorities, clear on creativity, conscious of where the brands are going (and where they should be going) and also be able to bring great man management and leadership skills in order to develop a brilliant and enthusiastic team. 

About You:

For this position we are looking for candidates who are highly results orientated and adopt an assertive, commanding leadership style. They should be very focused and unwavering in their desire to achieve, stepping up to take charge. They should demonstrate the strong leadership characteristics required to face challenging situations.

We want people who are particularly suited to generating new business ideas in competitive markets and embracing a certain amount of risk in your decision making you'll need to enjoy the challenge of an exciting, fast paced market.

You will thrive on pressure, pushing to move processes quickly and have the drive to keep the business constantly moving forward. 

Desired Skills & Experience:

A working knowledge of the drinks industry is vital, albeit doesn't have to be current and we would welcome the chance to speak with you if you have previously worked in the industry and want to move back.

  • Strong understanding of the buyer behaviours across the on trade and off trade channels
  • A good understanding across all of the media platforms
  • A strong desire to inspire, coach and develop people through the business
  • A willingness to take risks and do things differently
  • A creative and innovative mind underpinned with robust commercial acumen
  • The ability to be assertive and get your point across in a calm and effective way
  • To be able to have fun and enjoy the great things you are doing with the new and existing brands
  • One eye on the customer and one eye on the internal business
  • Be able to create and accept change as things can move really fast here.

This is an amazing opportunity for a Head of Marketing or Marketing Controller to move into a board position and be an influencer in this company's strategy moving forwards.
