Planning Director - The Company

My client are part of one of the largest players in the world offering advertising, creative and media services from offices in over 70 countries with more digital staff than any other agency. They've had a great year so far with a multitude of new client wins encompassing some world famous FMCG and Fashion brands as well as many other new clients. They have a well developed learning and development program and a sociable and meritocratic environment.

Planning Director - The Role

This is a hugely varied role and offers a real opportunity for you to grow and learn within a friendly and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for the agency's output on a key part of the account, leading a team of 3.

Key Responsibilities:

-To lead, inspire and manage your part of the day to day planning team.
-To be the key point of contact for the day to day client stakeholders.
-To use your media knowledge, ability, intelligence and charisma to inspire your team to create more modern communication thinking for the client.
-To build gravitas with clients and deliver advanced solution-oriented discussions
-To build and maintain strong industry and key agency relations that exist between the client and creative agencies. Your role is to ensure that the clients feel we are fully integrated and supportive of each other's work.
-To be able to identify commercial opportunities and with the necessary support, work to achieve incremental revenue streams
-To be responsible for ensuring that client finances are tightly managed, that unbilled invoice queries are kept to a minimum and that if clients have queries on invoices that they are managed in a timely manner.
-To foster an open and inclusive client team culture.

As a senior member of a 10-strong planning team you'd be expected to play a key role in shaping the development and direction of the wider team.

Planning Director - Key Skills

You must have at least 5-6 years' experience in media planning/ buying and will preferably have a knowledge across all key media channels (Social, PPC, SEO, TV, Digital Outdoor &Radio).

Specific Skills include;

-Strong Digital nous and experience of working closely with Social, PPC and SEO teams
-Strong brand credentials, but with an eye for performance and driving results
-Experience of running a team
-Strong sense of initiative and an ability to self-start, taking a project from start to finish
-Capable of facing difficult or challenging client situations with calm and aplomb
-Real team-player, with strong collaboration, both internally and with partner roster agencies
-Able to build quick and long-standing relationships with a variety of people
