Interim BD Manager (TMT) - 9 month FTC
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Interim BD Manager to join a well-established international Marketing & BD team, supporting the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing and client relationship management activities. The team is divided into two key areas: Clients & Markets, which broadly encompasses the BD teams in the practices, Client Relationship Management, Business Analysis, and InterAction; and Corporate Communications, which comprises PR, Brand, Design, Events, and on-line.
Specific responsibilities and tasks will include:
BD planning & budgeting - working closely with the co-sector heads and other senior partners in the group to develop global business and BD / marketing plans, and budgets. Delivering market analysis as required to support the planning process, managing the implementation of BD plans and budgets, and regularly monitoring and reporting on progress.
Client development - working with the ISG Heads and Core Teams to oversee the portfolio of clients within the Industry Sector and ensure there is an effective process in place for prioritising those clients, monitoring and reviewing performance, and leveraging and sharing industry knowledge and best practices across those clients.
Marketing Campaigns and Profile Raising - creating and implementing integrated campaigns across the industry sectors to help raise profile and awareness amongst the key target audience and generate opportunities to meet potential clients. You will also plan and manage the implementation of marketing communications programmes, develop and oversee the implementation of an effective profile raising plan for the industry group, and manage the directory submission process.
Pitching, targeting and new business generation - working on the development and implementation of client targeting initiatives and campaigns. Advising partners and teams on specific and sector focused new business opportunities, provide input to major pitches and promote pitching best practice across the Industry Sectors.
Internal communications and knowledge sharing - ensuring the core teams and various sub-groups are meeting regularly to move forward the sector plans, and they are coordinating and engaging effectively with the wider community of lawyers within the sectors.
You will have strong previous experience of working in a business development or marketing focused role in a professional services firm, with some exposure to industry sector marketing, with basic knowledge of the banking, insurance and asset management industries. You will have previous experience of marketing to / working within the financial services industry. A good academic background is essential and it would be advantageous for the candidate to have an MBA or other relevant post-graduate qualification. You will have excellent interpersonal and (internal and external) client-facing skills, strong influencing skills, have initiative and be an enthusiastic self starter with a can-do attitude. You will be a team player, but able to act autonomously with minimal guidance.
