Events / Conference Manager

This is a rare opportunity to join a thriving, unique online business in Shrewsbury in the role of Events Manager. The role is due to the growth of the business and you will work with the editorial teams to deliver conferences across the UK but report direct into the CEO of the company - it's a brilliant chance to make your mark within an expanding and dynamic company.

The conferences are B2B conferences and this company are involved in events/research and publishing.

The role includes:

  • Developing the conferences programme in liaison with the editorial team
  • Researching conference topics and recruiting speakers
  • Managing their awards programmes
  • Organising webinars and online training activities
  • Managing event budgets to ensure profitability
  • Liaison with marketing and sales departments to promote events
  • Managing contracts with conference venues
  • Overseeing the delegate booking processes
  • Managing speakers including issuing invitations etc.
  • Liaison with venues
  • Travel to events for on-site management of event

About you:

  • Experience of working on events both in terms of organisation and in terms of programme development, speaker and topic research etc. 
  • Strong adminstration and organisational ability - you must be a great project manager
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You must be bright, focussed and able to drive this forward, with support, but the ability to think on your feet and for yourself is a must!
