Seriously successful central Bristol (and London) software house are looking for a Software Engineer to join a fantastic 15 strong dev team to produce high quality, complex data-driven application used by millions of people worldwide. In a period of prolonged expansion, they’re looking to grow the team and are more than happy to support your transition from another language. So if you come from PHP, Java, C++, Ruby, Java, Clojure, Javascript etc and want the opportunity to work with Go, Python, Node.js, Google Cloud Platform tech, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, TDD, Distributed systems, machine learning, data mining, iOS, Android, Linux and lots of other cool tech then this is the place for you.

What experience you'll need

To be in with a chance of joining this relaxed yet hard working team you’ll need to have proven coding skills and a passion for what you do.  Tech-wise, as mentioned above, they’ll help you cross-train from a number of languages (i.e. PHP, Java, C++, Ruby, Java, Clojure, Javascript) but will need to see evidence of complex application development and that you can adapt to quickly learn and mastering new languages.  You’ll need proven OOP skills from the mid and back-end side and be able to produce squeaky clean code through TDD.  A positive attitude, lots of enthusiasm and some cool bits to show at interview are also encouraged.

What you'll be doing

They need people who enjoy using progressive technologies to help advance their behaviour-based ad serving platform for use within a hugely lucrative sector.  It’s really interesting work in a relaxed start-up like team environment where you can soon contribute to technical design discussions formulating your own ideas and experimenting with cutting edge tech.  Upcoming projects could include; refactoring software, creating campaign management functionality and self-service automation, integrating new ad layouts and customers as well as third party data feeds, creating new real-time buying solutions and much more.  They are proponents of open source technology who encourage your active involvement in the community so away from the commercial work there’ll be interesting projects and challenges on offer.

What you'll get in return for your talents

In return you’ll benefit from ongoing personal development including an impressive training budget and access to industry events. You’ll also be welcomed into a positive office environment with an unrivalled sense of autonomy in the work place including flexible working hours and occasional remote work, so this really suits someone who is hardworking and independent and really loves to code.  Its high profile work that anyone would want in their portfolio so if you’ve got the right set of skills then expect somewhere between £26-35K in this role.  You can pick your own hardware and get involved in regular team socials and trips across our offices in Bristol and London

What next?

This is a really awesome opportunity and they’re hiring now so send in your CV NOW for immediate consideration
