We are working with a key player in the car insurance and car tracking sector who are now recruiting for an experienced Technical Project Manager. You will join an experienced Projects/Products Development team with the key aim to manage all projects and resources in order to ensure efficient, successful implementations on time, to budget and to expectations of the clients they serve - internally and externally.

This is an exciting time to join as they are looking to significantly develop their technology business and the products they offer to their client base. The business as a whole is growing as they work with car rental firms, leasing companies, insurers and also as they develop their own insurance business. You will have responsibility for all aspects of a project over the entire project life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close) helping a software development team translate visions in to usable digital products. You might work on new mobile apps, new software, new web apps or even hardware.

The technology team manages business systems across all divisions, business units and external clients. This includes bespoke .NET web applications, SharePoint sites and other related systems.
As an experienced Project Manager, your responsibilities include:
- System scoping and setting project objectives
- Responsibility for assembling and motivating the project team.
- Assist in setting up and follow agreed and best practices.
- Anticipates and resolves customer issues through negotiation and leveraging a range of resources, working cross-functionally as necessary. - - Monitors and manages customer expectations and experiences throughout the implementation.
- To manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
- Monitor projects and check actual progress against planned progress to ensure technical, schedule and budget goals are met or exceeded.
- Provide technical and leadership guidance and direction to personnel to ensure proper, timely completion of work.
- Interact with team, management and customers to define project requirements and identify solutions consistent with defined terms, methodology, policy, and regulations.
Experience Required: -
- Good educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering
- Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- A proven track record of successfully managing a number of sizeable projects through all project phases from inception to sign-off.
- Demonstrable experience with operating formal project management methodologies. PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience of managing budgets and people successfully, and of building, managing and improving client relationships during the project lifecycle.
- Knowledge of the industry (Telematics, Insurance, Software development) and its processes and procedures gained through academic study or direct experience.

As this s a new role, you will have previous experience of implementing new procedures and processes.
