With the Marketing & Digital Recruitment Awards edging ever closer and the last date for entries looming (31st July), we thought we'd catch up with one of this year's judges and previous, multi-award-winner, Niomi Cowling, to find out her top tips for this year's Marketing & Digital Recruitment hopefuls:
Q1. What does it mean to be a part of the marketing and digital recruitment awards?
I love this industry. It’s exciting, growing and forever changing. The marketing and digital recruiters out there are extremely dynamic and unique in the way that they are growing and evolving to fit the demands of their customers. It’s great to be part of these awards to celebrate how the recruitment industry reflects the growth and practices of the wider marketing and digital industries – it’s amazing how much this industry evolves YoY.
Q2. As a 2017 judge, previous entrant and multi-award winner, what are you looking for from the entrants?
For entrants, I’m looking for a fresh approach to recruitment. A company’s objectives (employees, success and scalability) and ‘doing good’ by both candidate and client should be at the heart of what they do, ensuring that the recruitment experience is as seamless as possible. I’d like to see companies really raising the standard of recruitment and giving that value add to customers.
Q3. What do you regard as industry success? What types of stories inspire you?
Industry success to me looks like steady sustainable growth and a strong sense of brand represented at all touch points. A company who people want to partner with and enjoy doing so, returning time and again. The stories that inspire me are happy employees and companies who are willing to go that extra mile for customers.
Q4. What advice would you give to entrants to help their entry stand out?
Be genuine, be authentic and be yourselves! Winning won’t make you amazing, the fact that you are amazing will make you win. Good luck!!
