We are looking for an experienced Marketing Executive ready for their next challenge and who wants to work in a fast paced, multi-channel team!

You will manage communications to an extensive customer database and work with our Data Analyst to target and segment this data; you will execute print direct mail and email campaigns reporting on their performance, results and testing! You will manage the Study and Sport Experience arm of the Company from strategy input and implementation to all aspects of Marketing support - there's a lot of variety and responsibility for you to make your mark!

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for you to develop effective internal relationships within Sales and Marketing and with Retail Sales, e-Commerce, Product, Sales and Customer Service, Schools Division and Tech and externally with our Postal Broker, Mailing House, Email Service Provider, Database Provider and various Suppliers and Media Partners.

We employ over 200 people, with most based at our modern South London office.

Key accountabilities of this role include:

Newmarket Holidays Branch

  • Project manage direct mail promotions, campaigns and programmes to the customer database within agreed budgets, timescales and all relevant approvals
  • Assist with project and production management for all print and digital campaigns, promotions, programmes and brochure creation
  • Provide original copy for marketing and email campaigns whilst providing fast and accurate copy edits on existing documents
  • Proof all marketing materials to ensure consistency, sense and accuracy
  • Recommend data segments to create targeted and measurable promotions and email campaigns
  • Apply testing where applicable to continually review and improve all email and direct marketing materials and activities
  • Contribute to, and critique on the content, design and production of direct mail literature and other marketing materials where necessary

Study and Sports Experiences (SSE) Branch

  • Assist with campaign management and production to support the SSE 2018 - 2019 Plan
  • Project manage email and direct mail promotions, campaigns and programmes to the SSE database within pre-agreed budgets, timescales and approvals
  • Assist with project and production management for all print and digital campaigns, promotions, programmes and brochure creation
  • Provide original copy for marketing and email campaigns , fast and accurate edits on existing documents and proof-read for consistency, sense and accuracy
  • Recommend data segments to create targeted and measurable promotions and email campaigns to the existing database
  • Extract data segments from the database provider, maintain and develop relationships with the database owners
  • Support the CRM Specialist in implementing a new CRM system (Workbooks) for the SSE Sales team
  • Keep up to date with competitor activity in this area

General Responsibilities

  • Apply testing where applicable to continually review and improve all email and direct marketing materials and activities
  • Contribute to, and critique on the content, design and production of direct mail literature and other marketing materials where necessary
  • Assist in maintaining the consistency and integrity of the Newmarket logo and brand across all areas of marketing
  • General Marketing support on upcoming projects as required
  • Build relationships with key suppliers from quoting, negotiating, scheduling, briefing, production and approval of creative, to execution of promotions
  • Proactively work with internal departments to improve working practices and creative materials
  • Work collaboratively across teams and key decision makers to ensure strategic objectives are met and projects realised effectively and efficiently

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Relevant hands-on marketing experience to a level commensurate with key accountabilities and job purpose
  • PC Literate - Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience of working with an Email Service Provider (preferably Dotmailer)
  • Knowledge of print mailing production processes, postage buying and brochure production processes
  • Proven track record in writing accurate, grammatically correct, effective sales & marketing copy for digital and print
  • Strong all-rounder with project management, organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Self motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills who builds strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Flexible approach to meet changing priorities within a fast changing environment including working hours to complete time sensitive projects

Ideally you will

  • Have experience of, or proven interest in, the 'direct-sell’ UK travel market would be beneficial
  • Be educated to degree standard

The hours are 35 per week, Monday-Friday (9.00am-5.00pm) and based at our modern, open plan Head Office in Wallington, Sutton (South London).
