Exciting newly created opportunity to join our client a high reputable, innovative and technology led Financial Services business as SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, acting as Business Partner to the Operations and Technology function, developing both internal and external communications plans.

Experience in both internal and external communications is essential ideally gained in a high profile technology led business, FinTech or alternatively with experience in a communications role business partnering the Technology function of a major corporate or financial services business.

You’ll plan and guide the communications activity working closely with the senior leadership team of the Group Operations and Tech function, helping to tell compelling stories and provide critical reputational counsel to the functions that play a pivotal role in driving the transformation and ways of working that underpin the success of the business

  • Play a leading role in defining and delivering the integrated communications strategies that support the needs and ambitions of the Group Operations and Technology functions
  • Works closely and collaboratively with teams across the Corporate Communications function providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation. You’ll anticipate complex issues, challenges and opportunities and support the overall communications strategies.
  • Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing the Business; exploring innovative and creative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the organisation
  • Work with the internal channels teams, often leading matrix teams or squads, to oversee the end to end delivery of creative and engaging content on the function-wide channels. This should be delivered accurately and on time, taking an agile approach to respond to changing business and industry context
  • Work in partnership with the external communications specialists (media relations, social media and public affairs teams) to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the brand and reputation for external partners including media, politicians, colleagues and future employees

What we’ll need from you:

  • Experience in BOTH internal and external communications
  • Experience of working in a communications role in a high profile technology or FinTech organisation. Alternatively you’ll need experience of business partnering with the Technology function of a major corporate or Financial services business
  • You’ll have a strong track record in Internal Communications
  • Some experience in media relations and reputation management is essential
  • Ideally you will have experience of working as a business partner capacity in a communications role
  • A creative problem solver, with an in-depth understanding of the internal and external communications landscape, challenges and opportunities and a high level of commercial and risk awareness
  • Able to think differently and challenge established ways of working to increase pace, innovation and effectiveness of communications
  • Ability to work at pace in an agile tech-enabled environment
