AJ Bell is looking for a highly motivated, skilled and ambitious individual to join our energetic in-house marketing team.

Ideally, you will have a background in marketing and will display a keen interest and understanding of key marketing disciplines – including social media, email marketing and SEO.

As our Marketing Communications Assistant, you will work closely with all areas of marketing and sales to raise the profile of our advised platforms; AJ Bell Investcentre, AJ Bell Touch and AJ Bell Custody Solutions.

What does the job involve?

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

Social media:

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and wider marketing team to update and develop content calendars.
  • Working with the Marketing Communications Team to support with planning, curation and implementation of a wide range of content for our advised social media accounts.
  • Monitoring channel mentions and responding accordingly to potential leads and user comments.
  • Working with the Business Development Team to plan, construct and deliver content from their channels in order to further raise their profile.
  • Undertaking daily interactions to generate engagement and grow advised community.
  • Ensuring that the copy used across our social media accounts is accurate, up to date and signed-off in line with our internal processes.
  • Assisting in the development and deliverance of campaign activity.

Email marketing:

  • Preparing and coordinating with the wider marketing team for a wide range of email campaigns.
  • Effectively build, manage and segment audience lists
  • Create targeted email content that resonates with the audience’s needs and operational pain points.
  • Construct and deliver optimised emails that align with the brand guidelines.
  • Reporting on a wide range of campaign metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions to improve overall performance.
  • Plan, build and maintain automation for a variety of communications.

Website:

  • Support regular updates, on-going development and general maintenance of the advised websites.
  • Assisting in the production, sign-off and distribution of marketing materials and literature.
  • Set-up and maintenance of HubSpot landing pages.
  • Monitoring and analysing website analytics to report on key metrics with the aim of optimising and curating effective website content.
  • Conducting keyword research to identify relevant and high-traffic keywords related to financial services and products for B2B audiences.

Reporting:

  • Conducting market research to support the development of ongoing marketing activities.
  • Preparing and presenting regular monthly reports on marketing performance and acting on data-driven insights.
  • Collaborating with other business areas to develop and track KPIs and metrics that align with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Using data analysis tools such as Google Analytics and marketing automation software to track and analyse marketing performance and identify areas for improvement.

CRM:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data in the CRM system.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to ensure that marketing campaigns and activities align with the overall sales strategy and support the sales pipeline.

Additional:

  • Supporting lead generation activities for advised platforms, and actioning succeeding feedback from the sales team.
  • Embedding AJ Bell’s guiding principles and corporate guidelines in your way of working, ensuring communications are accurate, clear and not misleading to our customers.
  • Building strong relationships with the marketing team and working proactively with colleagues in the wider business to ensure all content we publish is quality checked and appropriate for publication, and that we are targeting audiences in the appropriate way.

We would like you to have:

  • A degree-level qualification in Marketing or Business.
  • Strong understanding and experience of using the Microsoft suite.
  • Experience of using, and technical understanding, of social media platforms – LinkedIn, YouTube and X.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and develop skill sets within key marketing channels and disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to take the initiative and work independently where necessary.
