One of the largest international law firms requires an experienced pitch specialist to join their Business Development department on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The UK Pitch Manager will be responsible for continuous improvement, implementation of best practice and delivering efficiencies across the pitching process.
The role will be practical and hands on. You will provide a single point of contact who will offer advice and guidance to the firm to win important pitch opportunities. Operating as a respected and proactive internal consultant, you will coach partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive, commercial propositions. You will work closely with the global BDM community and wider business teams to support their lawyers on the biggest opportunities advising, supporting and training, as necessary. In addition to working on transactional pitches, you will take lead responsibility for project managing and delivering the most important pitches for the firm, working alongside the client team to ensure the firm's best foot is put forward. Whilst you will not lead every UK panel pitch, you will be expected to allocate panels to the right individuals based on both experience and interest and ensure that all pitches are successfully project managed and that partners and client teams are fully prepared for beauty pageant meetings with clients. It is essential that the role holder also ensures all relevant pitch materials are kept up to date. Applying your expertise to identify synergies across the pitching process, looking at how the firm can better use resources and create a more efficient experience for the business when pitching, will form a key part of this role. The UK Pitch Manager will carry direct management responsibility for seven pitch professionals at both advisor and assistant level. It is essential that you provide strong management to the team with a particular emphasis on their professional development.
The successful candidate will be a graduate with extensive pitch experience gained in a professional services environment to include previous experience of managing teams. The UK Pitch Manager must be a confident, reliable, pro-active and willing team player, with excellent communication, presentation, delegation and project management skills. In addition, it will be essential to demonstrate a proven ability to think strategically and to manage multiple deliverables to a high quality within a tight timeframe.
