PHP Developer

Crazy about technology and eager to develop in a successful business? We’re on the hunt for a tenacious and driven Developer to join a progressive creative agency based in a great location in Nottingham.

Due to sustained new business wins and continual growth, our client is looking to add to their talented digital team working with a diverse range of local, national and international clients.

As an experienced Developer you’ll have at least 5-6 years development experience under your belt, ideally some of which should be within an agency.

You’ll be eager to experiment with new cutting-edge technologies, which you will share with the rest of the team. Although you’ll report to the Digital Director, you’ll also take ownership for your own projects, demonstrating a certain level of standard and expertise in your field.

Role overview:

On a daily basis, you’ll be working alongside the client services and creative teams, helping develop new and existing systems for clients. You will be working with Symfony, Laravel, WordPress and Magento on a regular basis.

You will share knowledge and help demystify technology in order for our client services team to communicate best solutions to client requirements. You should be a good problem-solver and have the ability to see the bigger picture in order to spot potential technical issues.

Key skills required:

  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Symfony and other PHP Frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of PHP and relational MySQL
  • At least 5 years experience using PHP for development, OOP preferable

Preferred skills:

  • Experience across a variety of frameworks especially WordPress and/or Magento
  • Working CLI knowledge of a Unix operating system (preferably Linux)
  • Working knowledge of jQuery and Ajax interactions, CSS and HTML
  • Experience working with version control (ideally Git)
  • Agency background or experience
  • Degree or similar in technology or computer sciences

Full time permanent position

9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (degree of flexibility is required to complete deadlines on occasion)

Salary £35-£40,000 p.a. depending on experience.
