As the Reporting Manager for this financial services organisation, you will be tasked with managing the prioritisation of information requests in order to provide reports that add value to the overall business direction, whilst also managing a small team of Analysts.
The company provides financial services to both customers and businesses across the UK. They are a large brand that is internationally recognised, but, this position would be working within the UK Customer Operations team. As a company they are in a period of rapid growth, more than doubling headcount in recent years.
The company has an aim of developing the use of data to help inform business decisions and also help answer questions behind customer behaviour. Joining as part of data reporting team you will be a new unit with the aim of supporting the company's new business direction.
You will be reporting into the Customer Insight Manager and be a key influencer in the new business approach. It is a fairly small team currently made up of two halves - one being insight and the other reporting, which you will be in.
Looking after a small team of analysts you will be tasked with the management and support of the team to ensure that the most efficient structure is followed at all times. Once you have identified the reports that are often requested you will be in charge of driving the automation of them forward, to optimise the capability of the reporting function. Although this role does not involve the actual reporting, it is very important that you have had practical experience of this to ensure you understand your teams' workload.
Furthermore, as the Reporting Manager you will be required to engage with a number of internal and external stakeholders in order to develop relationships and to increase the data quality across the company.
The ultimate aim of your role will be to reduce the need for report function through the prioritisation of reports, the automation of frequent requests through evaluation of requirements. You will need to determine the reports that will add value to the business and be easy to analyse with the insight function.
