BD Manager (Financial Institutions) - Global Law Firm
A fantastic opportunity exists for a Business Development Manager to join the highly regarded marketing and business development team of a major international law firm. Reporting to the Head of Client Solutions, the role holder will implement and evolve the firm's marketing and business development strategy for transactional needs focused client solutions.
You will manage the marketing and business development programme for the firm's transactional needs focused client solutions, with a priority emphasis on selling them to important clients, and provide high quality flexible business development support across the Client Solutions team as a whole when required. It will be your responsibility to articulate why the firm's transactional needs capabilities are better than competitors', capitalising on relationships, experience and know-how and delivering marketing to promote these capabilities with impact.
You will also own client relationship management support for a number of the firm's most important clients. This will involve developing an in-depth understanding of those clients, based on building an on-going understanding of their strategy and issues through research and current awareness, driving client planning and reviews and developing bespoke content programmes for clients. From a pitching perspective, you will work with the Clients and Sectors and centralised Pitch Centre teams on high-value pitch opportunities to increase the firm's probabilities of winning and collaborate with the centralised Pitch Centre teams to ensure there is a good understanding and knowledge base of capabilities and experience related to the transactional needs client solutions in support of creating compelling pitches.
The ideal candidate will be bright with a minimum of 10 years' previous experience gained in a legal or professional services firm to include time spent working in an international business environment that requires buy-in and engagement of senior management or partners and working across cultures successfully. A proven track record of successful client relationship management and winning new business is essential as are excellent oral and written communication skills, resilience and the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure.
