A growing software house based in Bristol is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their expanding team. It’s a really exciting period of growth for them and having proven themselves in their field through a long list of respectable clients and awards for all their efforts, they are ready to take the business that step further again. Their primary software is well-known and highly respected and they work with a really diverse and interesting set of clients from small businesses to multi-national corporations to the government sector.  It’s a friendly team and they believe in creating a great atmosphere for all their staff.

What experience you'll need

Your tech will be based around HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript and jQuery and you’ll have used these in a web application based development environment. You’ll need at least exposure to Angular or React (ideally React) previously, even if in a non-commercial capacity. You will need to be confident in implementing responsive designs across mobile, tablet and desktop devices. You will need to be able to work to deadlines whilst keeping standards high. You’ll also need to be able to communicate well with the other developers, as well as senior management and potentially clients.

What you'll be doing

You will be helping to maintain one of the most popular pieces of software in its market, as well as introducing new features. Involved in design, consultation and implementation, you’ll be working with multiple versions of the software at the same time. You’ll be working in a team of 5, with the current 4 developers in the business all focussed around back-end PHP development. This means that when it comes to discussing project specifications with others in the business, as well as with clients when needed, you’ll be the expert in the room. You will also be responsible, along with all the other developers, for keeping up to date with the latest tech and industry practices and will know when it’s worth suggesting bringing something new in.

What you'll get in return for your talents

It’s a really exciting time to join the business due to their reputation and their plans for growth. You’ll be part of a friendly, dynamic and collaborative team that all really care about creating an amazing product. You will be the primary front-end developer which will allow future opportunities to help build a potential team around you. You’ll be offered a competitive salary and as part of the business, you’ll be involved in socials, pub trips, meals, etc. as well as knowing that what you’re doing has a direct impact of the future of the company. Flexible working hours are also something the company believes helps developers maintain a good work / life balance.
