Business Development Manager - Corporate & Commercial | London | Professional Services

My client is global legal services firm with a reputation for innovation and exceptional client service. In this newly created role you will be part of a centralised BD team which supports the development and implementation of the firm's strategy and helps drive profitable revenue growth (through existing and new clients) as well as develop and deliver a clear brand proposition through their sector focus.
Reporting to the Director of Business Development with a dotted line to the Divisional Head the BDM will sit within the central BD function providing support the Corporate and Commercial Division. The divisional Business Development Manager to work with the wider team of specialists from across the business to deliver the divisional strategy, facilitate the go-to-market approach through key sectors by becoming a trusted account manager for the division

Key responsibilities will include:
*Work with the team to decide what the 'hot topics' or areas of specialist knowledge they should be promoting through the year and the best format for promotion
*Help structure a BD activity plan throughout the year, working within defined budgets
*Drive promotions/campaigns, planning follow-up activity and tracking return on investment
*Work with the divisional leadership to develop/update divisional business plans, client targeting and conversion, driving greater cohesion and rigor
*General profile raising internally and externally
*Lead relevant pitch opportunities
*Ensure that "best practice" from other parts of the Firm or from within the Division are identified and shared

The successful candidate will /will be
*Able to lead a team and delegate
*Work with specialist teams across BD to achieve objectives eg. Communications and Marketing
*Able to bring people together from multiple sectors and directorates to align support for BD projects
*Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload according to business need
*Able to manage competing tasks to completion against tight deadlines
*Competent communicator with confidence to interact professionally with senior leadership, other colleagues and externally
*Relevant divisional knowledge preferred but the relevant skills and a professional services background are key
*Able to motivate, engage and coach relevant individuals
