Reporting to the Senior Social Media Manager, the Assistant Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling content to support campaign and business priorities, including all daily content publishing from our seven social channels, and integrating with our other owned and paid media.

Our client is one of the leading UK multi-channel retailers offering stylish, high quality, great value clothing, food and home products. They are market leaders in many categories and have a vacancy as an Assistant Social Media Manager.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing tone of voice guidelines and best content principles across channels
  • Responsible for all content and campaign briefing, planning, review and delivery
  • Actively monitoring customer interactions across all social platforms and owning relationships with Customer Service, PR, and other key stakeholders
  • Work closely with Customer Services’ Social team to ensure excellent levels of customer service on Facebook and Twitter
  • Channel development – ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in terms of network changes, audience growth and innovations
  • Weekly reporting on KPIs – plus progress relative to competitors
  • Ownership of social listening reporting – developing actionable monthly reports for the total business and key areas
  • Feeding relevant insights into key stakeholders across the business
  • Working with the marketing managers, editorial and PR teams to curate the best content from the business and adapt for social media channels
  • Effective day-to-day management of agencies

Technical skills:

  • Excellent copywriting skills are essential
  • Experience at Social Media Manager level
  • Results in managing fan growth and earned reach, and excellent social media campaigns
  • Understanding of social paid media landscape and proven results
  • Line management
  • Understanding of social media tools such as Percolate, Buddy Media, Wildfire, Brandwatch, Sysomos and Radian6
