Client Services Director - Healthcare Communications
One of the largest global networks in healthcare communications that provides strategic, integrated communication solutions for their clients, including many of the biggest names in the pharmaceutical industry is looking for a Client Services Director for their MedComms Division. In the UK, they comprise of over 180 healthcare communication specialists across the disciplines of brand promotions & digital, medical communications, market access, clinical trial management, consulting, and public relations. You will be a Senior Director of Client Services with overall responsibility for the strategic direction, growth and development, financial and resource management, and delivery standards of a range of account(s); the agency lead for strategic discussions and routine client/agency reviews, driving strategic and tactical planning of accounts internally and with clients, including organic growth. Driving alignment across client teams, ensuring appropriate servicing and delivery standards and providing internal leadership of accounts and teams; a client services lead for pitches and proposal presentations, with a passion for new business and a member of the Senior Management Team within Medical Education, working closely with the MD to help shape and deliver their future growth and development.
The Senior Directors there need to be hands on, with a proven track record of success in senior client services roles within medical education. You will act as the senior client services lead and contact on accounts, working closely with clients to inform their strategy and ensure they deliver to the highest standard. This is an internal and external leadership role that requires a passion for quality and delivery, setting the standard for the internal team and working closely with them to train and mentor on how to deliver a first-class service.
The successful candidate will not only be able to draw on their own experience to propose tried and tested solutions, but be open and willing to look for new ways of working. Business growth and development is a key part of this role and they are looking for someone with a real flair and enthusiasm for developing proposals and leading pitch teams. They always challenge themselves to do things differently and not just repackage what has gone before, and they need their Senior Directors to be enthusiastic about drawing on the experience afforded by a large multi-disciplinary agency to develop proposals that are truly innovative and stand out. This role requires an excellent understanding of medical communications strategy, with the ability to craft and deliver medical education plans based on commercial, scientific/medical and strategic understanding, and an interpretation of product attributes and data. Internal responsibilities include line management, and candidates need to enjoy working with, managing and motivating a team at a variety of levels from Account Executive to Account Director, actively participating in their training and development. Managing opposition without losing control or backing away from responsibility are vital. Financial management is a key part of this role, with experience and ability in managing monthly/quarterly internal reporting procedures as well as client reporting schedules. They expect their Senior Directors to consider their range of accounts as a ‘small business’ ensuring accurate forecasting and driving the business to achieve projected financial KPIs.
