This is a Business Unit Director role within a renowned global healthcare communications agency based in beautiful Thames-side offices on the South Bank. This is a company that’s part of a huge international communications network and as such you will enjoy the benefits of working in an environment that is truly inspirational.

The Business Unit Director is responsible for day to day running, long term planning, profitability and growth of a number of top pharmaceutical accounts including the delivery of award winning ‘awesome and creative’ creative campaigns. You will also assume responsibility coaching, mentoring and developing your line reports. Your main responsibility will be in the area of client counsel where you will use your understanding of the business to respond to client challenges, provide strategic brand counsel in addition to developing and implementing advertising campaigns and conduct regular internal strategic review of accounts. You should work with the agency’s diverse operations, including creative teams to deliver big ideas that work effectively for client brands and lead your team to create award-winning campaigns. In terms of people management. You should conduct annual appraisals and regular development/objective reviews, encourage learning and development of the team, produce and regularly review resourcing plan for your own accounts, inspire your team to deliver great work beyond their expectations and support the Group Account Director and be prepared to lead the account group in absences. On the financial side of the business, you should understand and comply with both the agency’s and client’s financial processes, assume responsibility for achieving budget for your own team’s accounts and producing accurate quarterly forecasts, ensure timely submission of timesheets for self and team, ensure accounts are not over-serviced by reviewing timesheets and resourcing templates on at least a monthly basis and ensure profitable budgeting, estimating and billing.

We are looking for somebody experienced in the healthcare advertising or MedComms sector, who can motivate and inspire teams, listen and assimilate information and communicate thoroughly and effectively to a number of different audiences; somebody with a thorough understanding of role of advertising, both locally and globally, and its role within the broader pharma / healthcare business context; a creative and innovative thinker; and somebody with good budgetary and financial control skills ... accurate and numerate
