One of Bristol’s most impressive creative digital agencies is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their friendly, forward-thinking team.  Working with global and local clients, this is a great opportunity to work within a growing digital agency with a great reputation for skills development and variety of projects.  If you’re looking for a role that gives you the autonomy to evaluate and select the best tech for the job and work closely with top designers and clients alike, then this is the one for you!

What experience you'll need

You’ll need to have strong HTML, CSS, LESS/SASS, GIT, CMS (ideally Wordpress or Drupal), basic PHP, MySQL and an interest in picking up Javascript libraries such as Angular, React etc.  Ideally you’ll have worked with Grunt/Gulp, AJAX/JSON, Bootstrap and perhaps the odd bit of email development and/or animated HTML5 banners.  You will be working closely with end clients so the ability to communicate well and work with multi-disciplinary account management and design teams is paramount.  They would like to hire someone with a natural passion for development, someone who keeps close to new trends and with the self-motivation to learn new tech skills within and outside of the role, advising them on the best ones to implement into commercial work.

What you'll be doing

Working within a small team you will be developing responsive sites and applications for an impressive number of globally renowned clients.  Working within a mixed Agile and Waterfall environment according to the specific project, you’ll be seen as the expert on all things front-end.  You’ll be confident at simplifying and translating complex technical concepts to clients and non-technical audiences as well as championing best practices, particularly in terms of accessibility and user experience.  The role will offer the chance to lead projects, evaluate new tech for use in projects, join the digital steering group for the business as the voice of front-end and make a real impact in this independent, well-run and fast-growing agency.

What you'll get in return for your talents

They have a fantastic culture here and a quirky but nicely designed open plan office space in the heart of town.  You’ll be able to take advantage of training courses, ‘lunch and learns’, access to tech events, decent holidays (inc long Christmas shut-down), company pension scheme, cycle to work, regular ‘bake offs’, plenty of socials/trips and much more.  There’s great long-term progression as they grow the team around you and the flexibility and support you need to learn and get some seriously impressive projects onto your portfolio.
