We’re looking for a Senior Application Developer (Cloud, AWS) to join one of the UK’s most innovative technology businesses at their centre of excellence easily reached from Bristol (40 mins) and Swindon (20 mins).  Outgrown your current role and need to feel challenged in a truly positive, progressive and rewarding environment?  Want to do more within an Internet of Things (IoT) space in a business with an incredible lab/tech set-up and a global reputation for ingenuity?  If so, this is definitely the one for you.

What experience you’ll need

As Senior Application Developer it’ll be expected that you’ll have worked on innovative cloud service development projects with any of Node,js, Python or Golang.  They’d like you to be very familiar with MQTT and evolving IoT protocols and have worked with some of; AWS including Lambda, AWS IoT, ECS and Docker.  They work with cloud integration tech and services inc REST, OAUTH, Microservices in an Agile development environment so they'd expect to see this too.  You'll need to have a proven track record of developing robust requirements specifications and have a flexible approach to development, picking up new terminology and tech quickly as required per project.  It's important that you're completely up to speed with the latest developments within the connectivity and cloud domain and a desire to implement new concepts frequently.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of a fantastic research, design and development team ensuring the next generation of connected products and technologies are properly explored, tested and refined.  You'll investigate and utilise cutting edge technologies, techniques, services and security to help design how connectivity is integrated into their suite of products.  Much of the role will include prototyping devices to cloud connectivity solutions, researching IoT connectivity protocols and interoperability frameworks and designing and validating new features with prototype hardware.  Other common activities will include working with other R&D groups, communicating your findings and helping to evolve their research processes.  It'll never be dull, you'll always be challenged and there'll be the autonomy and freedom to experiment, creating outstanding solutions.
