Head of Marketing – Manchester Arndale

CBRE are looking to recruit a Head of Marketing for one of our premier shopping centres in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketer to develop and implement a medium to long term strategy for marketing, PR and promotional activity within the Shopping Centre. We are looking for an individual that can support the Senior Management team to deliver all tactical matters relating to marketing, PR events and promotions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities to direct and manage the onsite marketing team as well as managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including the Heart of Manchester Retail BID. We are looking for someone who can be an Ambassador for the centre when networking with other marketing professionals and high profile organisations. You will be fully accountable for the marketing budget and year end reconciliation. This would suit an energetic self-starter who has a lot of creative ideas that they can develop and implement in the Centre.

Manchester Arndale lies in the heart of the city and is one of the largest city centre covered shopping complexes in the UK with an average of 798,000 visits per week and over 42 million per year – the highest footfall of any inner city centre. Manchester Arndale has been the star of the North West’s shopping centre scene for over three decades and covers 1.6 million sqft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that a programme of continual process of value improvement is achieved and demonstrated across all areas of the department
  • Deliver through the team innovative marketing campaigns and bespoke initiatives to deliver the agreed KPIs of the marketing strategy
  • Lead in the execution and management of the centre brand strategy
  • Direct and manage key agency accounts and deliver best value against agreed KPIs
  • Commission appropriate market research, socio economic data and customer profiling to inform marketing strategy
  • Gain sign off approval from the CentreDirector for the Marketing Strategy
  • Create strategic relationships with the Centre’s occupiers at Head Office level, external suppliers, agencies and  stakeholders to create and deliver the annualmarketing plan.
  • Take the lead role in managing all internal and external communication of marketing and PR activities
  • Manage existing and develop new relationships with external marketing consultants and key external community stakeholders
  • Input into the Centre’s marketing community and sustainability strategy so that marketing and PR fully reflects CBREMS’s corporate social responsibility
  • Lead the marketing team to develop a fully robust PR and communications campaign to support all events and initiatives
  • To ensure compliance with CBREMS standard policies and procedures
  • Lead the team in adopting a Health and Safety culture

Person Specification/Requirements

  • Strong marketing background ideally within a retail environment 
  • Ability to implement strategic thinking
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to  make decisions to add value to the management team 
  • Ability to work effectively in partnership with management team and building strong working relationships
  • Previous experience managing a team
