An exciting opportunity has arisen within a successful direct marketing and fundraising agency that specialise in direct response TV, film and radio. They are looking for an Account Manager to join their team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a successful direct marketing and fundraising agency that specialise in direct response TV, film and radio. They are looking for an Account Manager to join their team.

Account Manager – The role

You will be responsible for creating inspiring and motivating direct response campaigns through TV, film and radio. You will work closely with media agencies, call centres and donors. If you have excellent project management skills, are a great communicator and have direct marketing experience, then this is the role for you.

Account Manager  – Skills and experience

Direct marketing experience:

We are first and foremost direct marketing specialists so it is vital that you can demonstrate key skills and knowledge in this area:

  • a good understanding of direct marketing principles and metrics
  • passion for numbers and evidence you understand what to look for when looking at the performance of campaigns


Film and TV adverts are our core outputs so you’re the kind of person who gets the best out a creative department:

  • Briefing creative projects: evidence of a high standard of briefing creative work in the fundraising sector
  • Critiquing of creative – demonstrate a good standard of critiquing creative concepts and be able to provide both a written and verbal critique of one of the DRTV adverts you have helped create

Budget control:

Our charity clients’ money is sacred so you have to show you are skilled in managing budgets on a fundraising campaign:

  • Evidence of creating budgets for fundraising campaigns, including DRTV

Control of budgets (costs: in and out) through a campaign

Client liaison:

Everyone in our agency has to be comfortable in meeting/talking to fundraising clients at both senior and junior levels:

  • Show how you have managed client expectations in the past
  • Show how you have solved problems, both large and small, for a client
  • We will ask for client references should you be offered this position

Media plans:

We’re not just about the creative product, we also help optimise client media plans:

  • Be able to pinpoint the key metrics to be considered in optimising a DRTV fundraising campaign
  • Demonstrate your ability to highlight potential improvements on a media plan (part of the interview process)


  • Evidence of working on the production process of a DRTV creative from briefing through to final versioning and clocking and sending out dubs to TV stations
  • Will have attended voice over recordings and be comfortable managing this process
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Access

You have worked/are working for a direct marketing agency that specialises in creating fundraising campaigns for the charity sector.

You will have already worked on direct response fundraising campaigns including direct response TV showing the skill sets listed in the above section.
