A leading international law firm requires an experienced pitch specialist to join their Business Development department on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The Pitch Manager will operate as a respected and proactive internal consultant, coaching partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive, commercial propositions.

The Pitch Manager role is part of a successful Pitch team of 4. The role holder will report into the Senior Manager and will work on a variety of high profile bids at all levels across the firm. You will objectively analyse incoming pitch opportunities, proposing go or no go decisions to partners and subsequently project managing a portfolio of pitches simultaneously, including facilitating and leading meetings, agreeing strategy and messaging, drafting and reviewing content from a marketing perspective and coaching teams on winning bids. You must promote quality of thinking and performance that adds value to each pitch proposition, avoiding disproportionate focus on document or presentation production. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the inclusion of client research, competitor analysis and industry and sector information in all pitch strategies; creating and maintaining a central library of information which can be accessed by others areas of the firm; ensuring all proposal and tender opportunities are tracked within the organisation's systems; monitoring, analysing and communicating bid outcomes and conducting debrief interviews, sharing any feedback with the BD team and turning this into action plans; and extending the impact of the 'best practice' model to all offices by inspiring and equipping lawyers with the resources, skills and behaviours they require to address an increasing proportion of new business opportunities themselves.

The successful candidate will be a graduate with at least four year's marketing or business development experience in a professional services environment, the most recent being at a senior executive or manager level. The Pitch Manager must be a confident, reliable, pro-active and willing team player, with excellent communication and organisation skills allied with strong attention to detail. In addition, it will be essential to demonstrate both a proven ability to communicate effectively at a senior level and to manage multiple deliverables to a high quality within a tight timeframe.
