Product Manager
Our client is a leading international manufacturer and marketer of complete solutions that identify and protect people, products and places. The purpose for this role is to Develop & implement product category strategies to drive multi-channel category growth. You will also own & drive category performance across the business by leveraging Market intelligence (Customer, Market trends, Legislation, Competitor), Digital metrics, NPI/NPD, Pricing, Sales team support /training.


*Understanding external customers needs, trends & identifying insights and opportunities
*Driving product development and new product introduction aligned with market and customer intel
*Leveraging and supporting internal customers to capitalise on each categories maximum growth potential


Reporting to the Director Product Marketing Operations Europe
Position based in Stockport


*Translate digital metrics & market intelligence into product strategy (NPI, NPD, New markets….)
oLeverage Google Analytics and other relevant sources of digital behavioral / transactional data
oContinuously build out Product Pipeline in line with global & regional strategic focus
oProduct range analysis / development (new & existing)
oPrice analysis (internal & external) & lead dynamic price testing

*Develop, launch & manage product categories - End to end lifecycle mgt
oLeverage in-house Product Developer and manufacturing capabilities where relevant
oDrive New Product Introduction / Development
oManage & negotiate with vendors jointly with strategic purchasing
oAgree Marcoms strategy by category including event driven, seasonal, regulatory campaigns
oLead focus of merchandising & digital teams for product content optimisation

*Product Expert
oChampion product value proposition
oProvide sales training & support
oThorough understanding of customer experience around each category

*Analysis of categories' continual performance
oProvide analysis & reporting of product categories' multi-channel performance
oAnalyse digital metrics & identify growth opportunities
oContinually maximise category ROI

*Translate online & offline insights in to Market Intelligence supported by the
Market Intelligence team
oCustomer - Summarise the voice of the customer & convey to ensure all activity is aligned
oCompetitor - Dynamic understanding of both online & offline value propositions
oMarket Trends - Emerging markets, Legislative changes that can be commericalised

*Owns Product strategy including NPI & NPD
*Owns Pricing strategy including price testing
*Owns Revenue and gross margin targets for strategic product portfolio initiatives
*Jointly agrees promotion strategy with Marcoms Leader
*Jointly agrees Product Service Level Agreement with Operations
*Leads customer research focus
*Leads content & content optimisation focus
*Leads customer experience strategy

*Graduate level
*Minimum 5 years of Product Management experience
*Ideally experience of online Product Management experience (familiar with digital data, driving digital sales)
*Experience in B2B market an advantage
*Experience of managing large long-tail portfolio an advantage


£45,000 - £50,000
£4,800 Car Allowance
