Lead PHP Developer, Team Leader - £55,000

This leading music company is looking for a PHP Team Lead with to work on and lead a variety of new and existing projects within the web team, including a digital music distribution platform and a powerful management tool for their clients and their songwriters. We would expect this role to contribute improvements and new features that make a real difference from an early stage.

You will join a growing team of passionate software developers working on their award winning client facing web-portal in a friendly environment. The web-portal is a very powerful tool for their clients to interact with their account, including a global real time activity feed and full unparalleled access to detailed historical data reporting.

Their codebase is modular and is version controlled with GIT. They use Bamboo for continuous integration and straight forward deployments. Projects are built upon a hugely powerful Oracle database processing billions of traditional and digital transactions. They use the latest technologies including a mixture of commercial and open source software and are currently re-platforming their existing portal.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • PHP and Javascript programming experience
    • Practical knowledge with using JSON
    • Good knowledge of SQL database design
    • Good understanding of MVC and OOP methodology
    • A good understanding of web-application frameworks such as Laravel, React, Symphony and AngularJS
    • Leadership and mentoring

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Git
  • AWS
  • Familiarity with agile techniques
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Understanding of REST
  • Good understanding of server-side template engines such as Twig, Mustache or Markdown
  • Experience in common third-party APIs
  • Experience in Unit-Testing/TDD
