A real success story, this multi-channel brand has been trading online for over 10 years. Starting out on marketplaces they began to see rapid success and now operate as a leader in their field, prompting the need to grow out their online trading team.

What you’ll be doing

This is the second role of this nature in the business, with the view to step in and shortly after recruit a team of 3. Your remit will cover a large spectrum of the product lifecycle so successful management of this team will be paramount to the future growth of the business. This includes planning the layout of the product listings and catalogue, the set up a clear and structured process of placing these online, and analysing the performance of the site to identify opportunities whereby the business can maximise margin and profit. So yes, you’ll be handling the look and feel of the site with your soon to be hired merchandising team, however this role is much more than that in terms of strategy. This growth could come from avenues in the existing product range, or from new product development you spot driven by the needs of your target audience.

What experience you’ll need

Online trading experience in an eCommerce environment will be key, along with management skills to coach the new team you’ll be hiring. The product aspect is important given the way the business is structured, so ideally your career history will demonstrate product lines that are bought/manufactured with careful decisions made based on your target audience. The plan is to grow the brand by 25% online over the next 2 years so having this commercial mindset is imperative.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

An opportunity to grow a brand new division as part of a thriving eCommerce brand will give you excellent autonomy. They are a really relaxed bunch as well with a fantastic office vibe. Salary is around £30-35k depending upon experience, with benefits including free parking, birthday day off, pension scheme and childcare vouchers.
