Digital Marketing Manager / Swindon / 40-50K / Plus benefits / FMCG

My client is a leading global FMCG business based and is looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to take ownership and control of an appropriate digital marketing strategy for the company that is fully linked to all organisational objectives. Working with the Marketing Director to identify drivers and deliver a digital marketing strategy that answers the needs of the business. Work with Marketing Director to formally identify the target market. Building consumer profiles. Understanding the existing consumer and their buying trends. Identifying new target consumers and the best way of engaging them digitally with the brand. Working with the Marketing Director and Marketing Team to deliver a 12mth digital marketing planner that outlines each project. Key projects should be managed using clearly defined critical paths to ensure smooth delivery and success.


  • Manage website and micro sites
  • Manage and develop the company's primary website in order to increase conversion rate and AOV. Manage product specific micro sites to develop their online presence. Propose and implement improvements and new ideas for micro sites in line with company objectives.
  • Manage the digital marketing budget
  • Work with the Marketing Director to build a digital marketing budget that delivers strong growth and ROI. Constantly review PPC and Affiliate spend to ensure agreed targets are met in line with overall marketing strategy and business objectives
  • Responsible for driving visits to site (Organic & Paid), Online AOV and Conversion Rates in line with sales and profitability targets
  • Work with Marketing Director to develop robust SEO, PPC, Affiliate and Conversion Rate Optimisation projects in order to meet sales and profitability targets
  • Manage All Aspects of Email Marketing including automated emails
  • Ensure email marketing programme is optimized to increase sales and profitability. Paying particular attention to customer segmentation and tailoring offering to Recruitment, Reactivation and Retention activity
  • Manage and Maximise performance of all external digital marketing tools
  • Manage pop-up and product placement software. Work with Marketing Director to agree a strategy of testing for these tools with relevant hypotheses and target KP
  • Review and identify target markets - undertaking adjustments as necessary
  • Checking consumer profiles and proposed digital marketing channels align.
  • Manage other digital sales channels including Amazon and Ebay
  • Maximise revenues and profitability of external digital channels and develop Present Finder's presence within these channels
  • Analyse the results of all digital marketing activity and present findings and recommendations to the Marketing Director
  • Compiling lessons learned and best practice. Reviewing the marketing planner and adjusting digital activity in line with results
  • Maintain an active knowledge of changing digital marketing trends that are relevant to the agreed target market

Digital Marketing Manager - Person Specification






Degree in Marketing



Holder of a professional marketing qualification or equivalent






At least 3years' experience in a management role gained in a marketing environment



Knowledge of DM KPIs



Marketing foundations ideally gained within a successful commercial company



Experience of working in an e‐commerce environment, ideally including recent B2C



A track record of increasing profit through recognised marketing campaigns






A broad level of digital marketing experience at ground level.



Fully conversant with all basic digital marketing tools CMS / Email marketing / Google Adwords / Affiliate Window



Well‐developed ability to use data analysis to make commercial decisions



Able to energise and motivate a team of professional staff



Articulate - both written and verbal



Able to bring a strategic perspective but also to be hands‐on when needed
