PR Manager (Litigation, Tax & Employment) - 12 Month FTC
This is a brilliant 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for an ambitious PR Manager to join one of the leading international legal firms with responsibility for the planning and execution of the media relations strategy for the global litigation, tax and employment practices.
The PR Manager will advise senior management of these groups on all comms related matters and be responsible for liaising with partners on a daily basis, sourcing key themes and comments to push out to the press proactively. The role holder will work directly with the partners helping to identify opportunities, preparing for interviews and following up with the media. You will need to have the necessary experience to take responsibility for deciding what ideas should be taken to the press and will act as gatekeeper to ensure the partners' and journalists' time is not being wasted. The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with sensitive issues that require careful handling, given many of the disputes the firm advises clients on are headline news. The PR team is receiving an increasing number of Brexit-related enquiries, so the role holder will be required to help field and execute those as well as pick up a small proportion of firm-related enquiries and proactive news flow such as partner promo. You will also be responsible for social media activity and writing awards submissions and attending award evenings as a host to help partners network.
A successful candidate will be a seasoned practitioner with a mix of agency and in-house PR experience. It is essential that the PR Manager has well established relationships with journalists, the confidence to work with people at all levels of the firm, excellent communication skills and be articulate in providing advice. There will be plenty of opportunities to share new ideas and therefore persuasiveness and presentation skills will be key.
