Media Relations Manager
Your new company
You will work for a FTSE 250 professional services firm, which is a market leader in its field. It is a global organisation with a comms and marketing team which is dynamic and forward-thinking, with media relations a key part of driving the success of the wider business strategy. The role sits within the UK & Ireland business, which has over 3,000 staff. It operates across a wide variety of industries, covering the public and private sectors and everything from finance and construction to IT.
Your new role
You will play a key role within the UK & Ireland in-house communications team, which delivers PR, internal comms, social media and content for the business. You will drive the delivery of a PR strategy for the UK business. You will be responsible for a broad PR remit, focusing mainly on media relations and working closely with colleagues to deliver innovative PR campaigns and secure media coverage across a range of national and regional media and a vast range of business press. The role offers excellent scope for career growth, training and development. The role will be an initial fixed term contract with the potential to be made permanent. You will work closely with senior directors and journalists on a daily basis.
What you'll need to succeed
You should ideally have significant experience of delivering PR activity to exceed the expectations of senior stakeholders in a corporate environment and experience of managing a team. You should be an effective communicator, with prior experience of developing and maintaining journalist relationships in order to secure media coverage. You should have the ability to write engaging press releases, bi-lined articles and commentary and support media interviews, offering advice and with a consultative nature. You will be an enthusiastic, organised and a confident individual, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
