We are one of the UK's leading music instrument retailers looking to recruit .NET Developers to strengthen our technology division in Newcastle, UK. This is the ideal role for an enthusiastic person with strong web development skills to play a key role.

The ideal candidate would have a solid experience of developing websites using ASP .NET / MVC / C# and enjoy expanding their knowledge on the job. They must have a portfolio demonstrating previous design and development work across the private or public sector.

eCommerce Developer Key Responsibilities:

Contribute in designing & developing our e-commerce platform, with intuitive functionality for our online customers

Work closely with our internal strategic teams to develop tools to improve the efficiency & effectiveness of our business

Contribute to key development decisions within the company

The successful eCommerce Junior Developer will have the following skills and experience:

> At least two or more years of commercial web development experience
> Knowledge of ASP.NET (MVC), Entity Framework, C#, SQL, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX ,CSS
> Good understanding of front end development across multiple browsers and mobile
> A working knowledge of web services
> Be able to work as part of a team and to demonstrate excellent communication skills
> Ability to adopt an MVC methodology with an understanding of scalable and reusable code
> The ability to work independently and be capable of visualising alternate solutions and make educated decisions
> Be able to participate in project reviews and evaluations, giving feedback, ideas and concepts in support of the company’s development
> Good experience championing good web design practices and secure code

Desirable Skills:

> Knowledge of search engine optimization techniques
> Knowledge of Umbraco or Nopcommerce
> An up-to-date knowledge of CSS3 and HTML5
> Strong graphical design skills desirable but not essential
> A computer science degree, college diploma, or similar is preferred but not required if the candidate can demonstrate equivalent commercial experience
