Business Development Manager for the German market

£40-50k plus commission depending on skills & experience

London with travel to Germany


This is a great opportunity for someone with strong brand/product/licencing experience to join a funky, iconic brand. The role will suit a dynamic person full of personality who can build strong relationships with retailers in Germany. Previous experience of licensing within Germany would be very useful and fluent German is essential.

Your role will involve:

  • Driving the German market from a London base with frequent visits to Germany
  • Handling licensing business as well as retailer activity
  • Identifying opportunities and opening new key accounts in Germany as well as nurturing existing commercial relationships
  • Negotiating and executing license deals in Germany
  • Supporting and monitoring customers in terms of product approvals and marketing requirements
  • Meeting German retailers monthly to maintain relationships and keep them abreast of new products and promotions
  • Developing a detailed knowledge of manufacturers, trends, retail landscape and opportunities
  • Working with internal team to develop supporting sales materials and brand presentations
  • Attending trade fairs and events

You will be the ideal candidate due to your:

  • Brand/product/licensing experience in a similar role for a recognised brand
  • Fluent German speaker
  • Outstanding negotiation and planning skills
  • Confident go-getter with fantastic communication skills
  • Passionate professional committed to growing the brand
