Interim Head of Marketing (9 months+)

£50-55k pro-rata

Hampshire - Commutable from Southampton, Eastleigh, Fareham, Romsey, Winchester


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading national and regional organisation as a Head of Marketing on an interim basis. The focus of the role is to manage the marketing departments effectively and assist with the development of the company's strategic direction and business plan. The Head of Marketing will own and produce the marketing plan, managing its implementation in order to deliver business plan targets.

Role and responsibilities

  • To liaise with the Membership Director to set the strategic targets and to own the development of the annual marketing plan - managing the plan through to its implementation and evaluation.
  • To manage marketing activity, covering the full marketing mix, and proactively identify new opportunities to increase new business volumes.
  • To ensure that marketing activity deployed by the team is fully analysed ensuring that key learnings are implemented into future activity to maximise marketing performance (test and learn strategy).
  • To manage the company websites and digital presence; including the development of the company's infrastructure
  • To take ownership of the new business customer journey, ensuring that members receive a relevant, and compliant, experience that maximises satisfaction and business results.
  • To manage and develop direct reports and the wider team with appropriate levels of interactivity - regular1 to 1s, half-yearly and annual reviews

Skills and experience

  • Educated to degree standard in a marketing degree / CIM/IDM professional marketing qualification
  • Proven track record of success within a financial services marketing background
  • A very good level of commercial awareness
  • An expert understanding of the marketing discipline across the full marketing mix and through the line
  • Ability to analyse marketing results and produce reports
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Effective budget management skills
  • Effective relationship builder/manager
  • Excellent communication skills and diplomacy
  • Strong background with managing teams effectively
