Role Overview

  • Develop direct marketing strategies across UK, USA and internationally that drive new customers and sales from existing customers.
  • Manage a multi-million pound direct marketing budget
  • Manage customer recruitment & sales campaigns for UK & US (including inserts, cold list, door drops)
  • Test and Introduce new channels, such as press & radio
  • Manage direct marketing team (2 direct reports)
  • Manage and develop key agency relationships to provide maximum value and effectiveness to support our marketing goals
  • Deliver against new customer and customer sales targets across multichannel – Stores, Web & Contact Centre

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

Business Planning and Budget Management

  • Develop acquisition strategies across UK, USA and internationally, working in conjunction with agencies and team to implement strategy
  • Input into development of, and manage annual, quarterly and period marketing plans across all channels
  • Update and modify plans in line with quarterly reforecasts
  • Manage the direct marketing budget to drive maximum new customer sales at lowest cost per acquisition
  • Develop sales, new customer volumes and contribution forecasts for our marketing plan

Direct Marketing Activity

  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns to deliver customer recruitment targets in USA.
  • Constantly improve the effectiveness of  campaigns – targeting, format, copy, creative, content, offers
  • Develop and manage relationships with key marketing agency partners
  • Input into customer recruitment plans and budgets to support new market entry plans for key international markets

Team management and development

  • Manage team to deliver customer recruitment and customer sales targets for UK, US & internationally.
  • Develop team knowledge and expertise
  • Develop understanding and awareness of new customer response drivers across the business

Qualifications Required

  • Extensive marketing experience in a direct marketing role
  • Experience managing offline customer recruitment campaigns and drivng sales from customers
  • Experience managing direct report(s)
  • Retail industry experience required (ideally in multi-channel environment)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong drive and determination
  • Passion to evaluate; learn from activity and optimise activity going forward
  • Ability to develop relationships across business functions
  • Education to degree level preferred
  • International experience preferred

  • Online marketing team and customer marketing team – both also reporting to Head of Multichannel Marketing
  • White Company eCommerce, Retail and Contact Centre teams
  • White Company cross functional teams especially Creative, Merchandising and Finance teams
  • Key marketing agency partners
  • Analysis teams providing insight and reporting
  • Frequent interaction with senior managers, company directors
