What does the company do?

Our client is a leading author on preparing and cooking food for children. 25 years after setting up at her kitchen table, our client has written over 40 books and has become the UK’s most trusted expert on good, tasty food for every age and stage, from eating during pregnancy and weaning, to feeding toddlers and family food.

This company is one of the leading suppliers of chilled ready meals to major retailers including Tesco and Sainsbury’s. The company also supplies baby foods and a healthy kids snacking range to retailers in the UK including Lidl, Asda and Morrisons. The company is just in the process of launching a range of frozen toddler meals.

Our client has also built up a very successful business in Australia where her food is manufactured by the leading Australian Frozen Food manufacturer and is stocked in the 2 major retailers in the country, Coles and Woolworths.

Our client is about to launch a brand new website using the latest technology. The current website attracts 4 million users per annum and the company has a very active social media presence across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and has two best selling recipe Apps.   

The company is made up of a young vibrant team who thoroughly enjoy what they do.

How you can expect to spend your day?

This exciting and varied role includes a diverse mix of activities ranging from sales support working with the Sales Director, to supporting with operations and admin tasks. You will have exposure to a dynamic, growing business and will have the opportunity to get involved and really make a difference. This role, in many ways, is a blank canvas with the opportunity to develop and grow with the job.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

Food Service support

  • Undertake desk top research to identify new customers
  • Follow up on contacts made with Food Service customers and wholesalers. These will range from holiday parks, theme parks, department stores, airlines, pub chains, nurseries, garden centres
  • Be the first port of call for Food Service customer enquiries telephone and email.
  • Complete customer paperwork
  • Monitor Food Service stocks and recommend reordering where necessary
  • Propose, cost and manage the marketing support for Food Service

Export Sales Support

  • Undertake desk top research to identify new customers
  • Follow up on contacts made with Export customers and local country distributors in key Export target markets: Benelux, Middle East, Scandinavia, Australia, Canada, America, China
  • Be the first port of call for Export customer enquiries by telephone and email
  • Fully understand the Export legal requirements for each country including organic paperwork, labelling, date coding and trademarks
  • Complete customer paperwork and Export paperwork
  • Tender and book transport for delivery of orders
  • Monitor Food Service stocks and recommend reordering where necessary
  • Propose, cost and manage marketing support for Export customers

The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications:

  • Highly organised
  • Lots of initiative and common sense
  • Well spoken, well presented and confident
  • Enthusiastic and with some experience in client facing roles
  • Great communicator with a good telephone manner
  • Perseverance
  • Curious nature with excellent attention to detail
  • A keen interest in food, nutrition, health and wellbeing would be a bonus
