Salary: £38,437 - £43,053 per annum (inclusive of local weighting)

About the role: 

With a new Chief Executive and Leadership Team in place, they have created a number of new, high profile roles within the organisation to help build their brand and shape the future of the district. 

This role is an opportunity to be part of the management team in a newly formed service of Communications, Strategy and Policy. The Communications and Digital Media Manager will lead on all internal and external communications. 

You will support the council’s Executive and Leadership Team on building the council brand and ‘telling the story’ of our client. You will manage a communications team developing and running campaigns, directing all of their print, broadcast and digital media (including the website). 

About you: 

Ideally you will possess a degree in communications, media, journalism, marketing or have significant equivalent experience. It is also desirable that you have a relevant professional qualification and experience of developing digital media content. 

You will have a track record of running successful campaigns and experience of using different communications tools to maximise reach. Significant experience of motivating and managing a successful communications team is essential, as is working under pressure and to tight deadlines. 

Highly developed communications skills including strong written and presentation skills, and the ability to listen and influence at all levels is vital. It is also necessary that you have excellent writing and editing skills, ensuring that all material is delivered to the highest possible standard. 

You should be able to form positive relationships with neighbouring authorities and partner organisations. Project management skills are also important.
