An exciting opportunity presents itself for an experienced Interim Marketing Officer to join an education association membership body

Key responsibilities will include:

- To develop and manage the marketing activity and loyalty programme in order to recruit and retain members and in line with the strategic priorities

- Lead, manage and evaluate the marketing communications strategies to recruit, retain and engage members, including the development and dissemination of appropriate online and offline marketing communications, in conjunction with the marketing and campaigns officer

- Champion the MRM system across the organisation, and advise senior managers and officers on working with MRM data to support and influence the recruitment, retention, campaign and member engagement activity

- Advise all levels of the organisation and officers on marketing communications strategies, which will have the biggest impact on raising the profile and on meeting the strategic objectives to recruit, retain and engage members

- Plan, promote and deliver the advertising strategy to raise the profile of the and meet The strategic objectives to recruit, retain and engage members

- Manage, motivate, develop and support the marketing assistant so that they achieve or exceed their performance objectives

- Develop the MRM system to meet The strategic objectives in conjunction with IT and ensure the union's digital and emerging technologies strategy and the MRM are aligned

- Exploit digital marketing opportunities in support of The recruitment, retention and engagement of members in conjunction with the digital team

- Set and manage an accurate and cost-effective marketing budget

Key Skills:

  • Proven success of planning, leading, managing and delivering multi-channel recruitment and retention campaigns, preferably in a membership and/or campaigning organisation
  • Proven ability in working with CRM systems, developing CRM strategies and an understanding of data analysis
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in marketing, digital communications, CRM, branding and advertising
  • Proven ability to successfully manage the tender process, negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements with external suppliers/partners
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and support staff
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to influence and relate to a range of people, and the ability to communicate technical issues in layperson's language
