This is a really interesting and diverse role with a national membership organisation, to join a close knit team as a Communications Officer with a digital focus.

The role

For this wide ranging role we are looking for a marketing and social media savvy individual who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into a varied job which won't leave you twiddling your thumbs! Day to day, you will be writing all the content for the member's website, ensuring all copy is innovative and engaging as well as managing the social media presence of the organisation. Alongside this, you will be the main writer and editor of the organisation's magazine, which includes gathering articles and editing them, liaising with designers and proofing content and copy. Additionally, you will ensure members are kept up to date with regular communications via email, newsletters, and various other tools of communication. You will also be the main point of contact for member's queries, so you shouldn't be fazed by an element of customer service to the role and picking up the phone and helping members with any queries they have and offering ad hoc advice and support to members.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level in a related discipline, with at least eighteen months to two years' experience gained in a similar role in a communications, PR or marketing environment, either agency or in house. Needless to say, you will be a skilled writer and experienced in using web and social media as a means of communication. On a personal level, you'll be organised, adaptable, and approachable and have a positive and proactive approach to problem solving. It is an advantage if you have experience of working for a membership organisation but not essential. As well as this, our client would ideally like someone to start at the end of September as they would like to allow time for a handover - so if you have two weeks notice period or less we would particularly like to hear from you!

What's on offer?

This is a great opportunity to join a lovely company who offer a friendly environment and close knit team. Salary for the role is between £22,000 and £24,000. If this sounds like the ideal role for you and you tick these boxes then we want to hear from you ASAP. To apply, please send your CV to us using the link, or for an informal chat on the role you can call Debra on 0121 355 0955.
