Director or Engagement
This is a senior post as Director of Engagement within a high profile Defence organisation based in central London. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a national employer engagement strategy, business development and a key leadership role. This is paying £64,778 plus excellent benefits.
Direct and manage UK’s Defence engagement with external organisations in support of the Employment Engagement national strategy. To have responsibility for central resource planning, coordination, management and reporting of all related engagement activity, in accordance with the Defence bodies and executive board direction.
To have line management and oversight responsibility for a team of professional staff and provide direction, guidance and engagement support for national and regional activity.
Develop Defence strategy including presentation of the Business Plan and timely clearance of marketing activity through MOD and provide a professional communications focus across all the regions and ensuring strong engagement activity.
Communicate with Defence organisations and the largest national employers as well as trade membership and professional bodies across all sectors.
To maintain accurate MI across all levels of Defence’s employer engagement capability and to present MI to support governance and inform policy development.
Required Skills and Experience
Must have a strong experience in coordinating and managing in the areas of relationship management, research and communications.
Have considerable management experience with evidence of responsibility for a multi-disciplinary team of equivalent size.
Have experience in resource planning and budget setting to support delivery of an SLA or similar.
Have broad experience in operating with/to large commercial and public sector organisations up to FTSE 100, including relevant trade or professional bodies.
Have broad experience in management information systems, in their planning and management, combined with an understanding of current information/data management and security regulations.
Be computer literate and have a knowledge of MIS (Salesforce preferred); a project management qualification (PRINCE2) is desirable.
Be a good leader of a team and have the necessary interpersonal skills required to work as a team player as well as to interact with staff, customers and suppliers.
Have experience of working within a Defence environment and an understanding of the role of UK Armed Forces, including the Reserves and Cadets (desirable).
Willingness to travel on a frequent basis
