This is a brand new opportunity for a talented Media Relations Manager who’d enjoy nothing more than joining a fast growing specialist and forward thinking healthcare business where you’ll take control of their media and content output.

Who you’ll be working for

With a national presence and significant growth per annum the business hold big plans to continue their success story. From within a centralised (and relatively newly formed) marketing and creative team you’ll collectively drive the businesses communications programme forward to help realise these ambitions.

What you’ll be doing

As Media Relations Manager you’ll play the lead role in the planning, production and delivery of imaginative, distinctive and measurable communications that reach key external audiences, primarily via third party media including broadcast, print and online.

You’ll achieve this through the formulation and distribution of insight-driven stories and serve as an active intermediary between the business, media owners and the wider public. Essentially the role will help strengthen a cogent brand that reflects the business’s achievements and ambitions in a complex, competitive marketplace, positioning them as an authoritative, thought-leader.

To achieve this you’ll create and manage annual schedules of activity, allocating resources for ad hoc or responsive activities whilst identifying optimal channels and media titles. You’ll monitor media coverage of the business, the sector and commentary about pertinent subjects relating to wellbeing, public health policy and the provision of healthcare. Naturally you’ll be called on to nurture valuable relationships with key contacts such as journalists, policy makers, commentators and other influencers to grow a media relations database.

What experience you’ll need to apply

We are looking for a confident and articulate Media Relations and PR practitioner with a proven history of frontline experience within an agency, media-owner or client-side marketing communications function. As you’ll be handling all manner of tactics, from media briefings, white papers, features, editorial opinion, blogs, social media, video, podcasts, responding to media enquiries through to developing public profiles and protecting personas you’ll need well versed across the board and used to moving between light touch and in-depth situations with ease.

Sector wise we’d like to see experience of delivering communications that add value throughout the customer lifecycle; driving acquisition, retention, customer care and advocacy. For example Membership-driven organisations or subscription based businesses.
