Bristol’s biggest and most technically progressive software house are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong experience in security and systems architecture.  This well renowned FinTech market-leader are currently developing life changing applications using cutting edge technology and are looking to add to their 60 strong tech team.

What experience you'll need

Core experience required can be flexible for the most part but they are keen to find someone with recent architecting of multi-service systems.  Ideally you’ll have worked on a microservice stack and will be fully familiar with message queues, service discovery and authorisation.  Any experience with authorisation frameworks such as OAuth and SAML would be great, especially if you’ve played a part in providing identity services rather than consuming them.  The tech environment includes; OAuth2, Open ID Connect, functional programming, Javascript, React, Docker & Kubernetes, AWS –any exposure to these will go down very nicely.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be working with a formidable team of software engineers to continually improve the architecture and security.  At times you will be working with DevOps engineers on continuous delivery, orchestration, secret management and service discovery systems.  They’re moving towards a pragmatic microservices architecture using both queue based and point-to-point architecture where appropriate.  They’ve built their own authentication and authorization service using the OpenID Connect standard allowing them to implement token based auth throughout their systems.  Working with the infosec team, you’ll be work on internal threat models, identifying potential vulnerabilities, assessing and resolving them.

What you'll get in return for your talents

In return they’re offering structured, tangible career progression and the opportunity to lead projects as well as a fantastic package.  You’ll receive a highly competitive salary (£55-65K depending upon experience), generous hols, 10% contributory pension, private health, training allowance and much more.  As part of the team you’ll also be able to take part in their bi-weekly hack events, pair-programming and R&D sessions in beautifully designed offices in the heart of Bristol.  There’s a bar, terrace, ping pong, lounge areas and a whole load of trips and socials to look forward to.  Above all, as the security specialist software engineer, you’ll be able to help shape the continued success of one of the most innovative products in its field on a global scale.
