Marketing & BD Co-ordinator (IP, Media & Technology)

A vacancy has arisen for a Marketing & BD Co-ordinator to join a well-established global team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities.

The role needs a capable and enthusiastic coordinator to support the global M&BD team in BD and marketing activities for the IPMT (Intellectual Property, Media & Technology) practice - a broad remit across some fast-paced and exciting areas of law.

The role will encompass a wide and varied range of business development and marketing activities including, but no limited to: pitching and credentials; client targeting and cross-selling; client/sector and competitor analysis; profile raising and marketing campaigns including communications such as directory submissions, online content and BD evaluation and reporting.

Responsibilities include assisting with the co-ordination of pitch responses and credentials statements ensuring best practice methodology is applied, preparing input to firm-wide pitches and assisting colleagues in other offices with their pitches in these practice areas.

You will provide and produce background research, strategy, client briefings and competitor analysis documents in preparation for pitches and other client meetings and issue Pitch Alerts, providing input to the firm-wide Pitch Log. You will also be responsible for maintaining the firm's repository for directory rankings and you will support lawyers in maintaining their CVs and in tailoring them for specific pitches and industry sectors. You will produce internal communications including electronic newsletters, encourage full and effective use of the firm's CRM database (InterAction), co-ordinate and support on client events/seminars in conjunction with the Events team, acting as an 'Account Coordinator' for internal clients, draft, review and update practice area entries in directories, award submissions and legal supplements, create targeted mailing lists for newsletters, newsflashes, events, seminars, support the M&BD team and central PR team on effective profile raising plans and campaigns for the practice.

You must have previous experience within a legal or professional services environment, and of working in a business development/marketing environment, possess commercial understanding, the ability to create a positive impact with colleagues, peers, partners and clients and to demonstrate diplomacy, and have listening and influencing skills. You will have good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to write compelling propositions.

An IP/Technology/Data Protection practice role would be advantageous.

You will hold a good degree and possibly hold a relevant marketing or sales qualification, such as the CIM or equivalent.
