Communications Officer (Visitor Experience)
Reference Number: A3130916
Salary: £19,602 - £21,236 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: 1 Year contract with possibility of extension
Location: Greater London (Based at London Bridge as of Nov 2016)

You will be project managing central improvements to their visitor experience and communications on nature reserves in the South East of England - to connect people with nature and grow support for the charity. Your role is to work with and support and inspire reserves teams to exceed visitors' expectations by ensuring consistent and quality experience across the region. You will work within all areas of visitor experience, playing a significant role in proactively promoting and enhancing the offer to visitors to increase footfall, working on interpretation on reserves and overseeing the production of marketing materials.

You will be self-motivated, able to work under your own initiative and have a track record of coordinating high quality visitor experience/or events, promoting visitor attractions and communications. Experience of working as part of a team in a busy environment is essential. Efficient prioritisation and creative thinking is needed to make the best use of the resources.

Working alongside the two Communications Officers you will have the ability to spot a good story and feed these to the two Communications Officers, as well as helping to provide content for (but not management of) our social media channels. You will also provide content for their website and keep web pages up-to-date (training will be provided).

A desire to engage new audiences through various channels and opportunities are required. You will also work closely with their colleagues at the reserves and at the HQ, supporting high-profile national campaigns coordinating cross-reserves themed activities and events.

You will be responsible for commissioning and managing the delivery of marketing materials required by teams across the South East from their in-house and external design agencies, and act as an 'account manager' between the staff requesting design jobs and the designer, working alongside the Communications Assistant. You will be responsible for ensuring that all these resources are on-brand and, with support from the Communications Manager, delivered within budget.

They are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, high quality proof reading skills, attention to detail and a creative eye to ensure all resources are created and produced to a high and consistent standard. Project management experience is also beneficial to this role.

The role will be based in their London Office (London Bridge as of Nov 2016), and will require frequent travel across the South East of England to engage with staff on their nature reserves. This may involve early/late finishes or occasional overnight stays by prior arrangement, for which time off in lieu is applicable.

You are advised to draw upon the points above when completing your application.

Closing date: 10 October 2016
