Marketing Manager - BTL & Targeted Social Media

Working as a Marketing Manager within the Brand & Direct Response Marketing team for one of the big quad-play providers, you will be taking control of large-scale campaigns (£2-5m in value), seeing out their creation, development and execution across multiple channels both ATL and BTL.

The brand and product you'd be working on are a flagship within a highly competitive landscape. Their brand is highly visible and their approach to marketing evolving to reflect best practice across industry, and hence the interest in classical FMCG backgrounds.

They're in a fight not just against other premium brands, but against the challenger and discount brands too. Like FMCG markets, their challenge is to maintain that premium brand positioning by leveraging killer insights about consumers to drive brand preference, as well as consideration and awareness metrics.

It will be your remit to both instruct the research which unearths the insight and shapes the direction of briefs, then see this out through to delivery, running the end-to-end of large-scale and sophisticated BTL direct response marketing campaigns.

You will have a broad set of stakeholders across commercial, operational and marketing teams. For example, working with product and propositions teams to ensure both the product is fit for purpose, as well as key messaging being correct and fit for purpose too. Or working with operations teams to keep them informed on campaign plans so they're operationally ready to deal with response volumes.

This is a fast-paced, busy environment. Their marketing is 'always on' and you could be working on between 5-6 campaigns at any one time. So good time and project management skills need to be second nature to you.

Because of the team set-up, you will also be getting involed in supporting the development of ATL and Digital campaigns too - namely TVC's and also highly targeted (geo-location, interests, behavioural, cookie tracking based) social media marketing campaigns over Facebook and other platforms.

Although this is working for a big business, you will be part of a team of just 8 people responsible for all brand and comms execution for this product area.

It's a flagship product within a market leading consumer brand. Budgets are big, looking a north of £40m a year, to support both brand build and direct response marketing just for this product.

The role you will play in this team will be to take control of a variety of campaigns and oversee their development and execution into channel. You will have the support of a senior manager and the Director of your business area is certainly no stranger to FMCG either, having had a very strong grounding for what's probably the World's biggest FMCG player, they're a classically trained marketer at heart and the driving force for this change of direction within the business. If you're looking for a mentor and someone to learn from, you will be hard pushed to do better in this instance!
