Homebased: Covering North UK down to Midlands

Further expansion has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their dynamic Waste Management brokerage team.

Job Description:

As Business Development Manager you will be based in North of the UK and be Covering the North down to the Midlands with flexibility for UK wide travel and frequent overnight stays. The role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers whilst developing new business from existing clients and actively seeking new sales opportunities to drive business and sales growth. You will be responsible for generating new business and closing sales deals through face-to-face meetings, video calls, phone and via email, whilst developing fantastic customer relationships. Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts with sales revenue in excess of 75k per annum.
  • Develop a prospect list to enable you to effectively make new customer appointments to promote and sell our service-based solutions
  • Consistently build a sustainable pipeline of both run rate and larger sales opportunities, working with the Head of Commercial and Supply Chain to produce bids, tenders, and proposals for larger opportunities
  • Achieve and exceed Monthly and Annual Sales, New Accounts, and other growth targets as per agreement with Head of Commercial
  • Address customer concerns and questions and overcome potential roadblocks in the sales cycle
  • Use product knowledge to showcase the range of solutions that we can offer and upsell/cross-sell when the opportunity arises
  • Create activities, opportunities and quotes using a CRM whilst effectively utilising CRM as a sales tool
  • Daily updating of CRM to maintain accurate opportunity forecasts, details of progress/plans including past activity
  • Work with Head of Commercial to create and deliver marketing campaigns and promotional materials to suit customer requirements and drive sales growth

Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry
  • Must have managed portfolios in excess of £75k – £ million.
  • Proven success in account management and business development
  • Computer literate with solid experience of CRM software and MS Office
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple prospects, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
