Big Society Capital

About Big Society Capital

Big Society Capital's aim is to improve the lives of people in the UK by connecting investment to charities and social enterprises that are creating social change.

We do this by bringing together our investment capital (upto £600m), our expertise (team of 40) and our network of partners. Over the next three years we will help to building broad understanding of social investment as well as focus on priority areas where social investment has a catalytic role to play in addressing social problems.

WHAT WE DO

BUILDING UNDERSTANDING & MAKING INVESTMENTS

Building Awareness and Understanding

We want to make it easier for more people and organisations to use social investment. We do this by working with partners to build understanding of social investment among charities and social enterprises, and also with potential investors.

Making Investments

We invest in intermediaries, who then invest in charities and social enterprises to tackle social issues across the UK. We focus on sustainable solutions that will achieve positive investment returns. We believe those solutions will be able to attract the most co-investors and, ultimately, achieve the greatest systemic change.

Our Values
